Advice and answers from the JourneyMeds

Compounding Pharmacies

Updated December 18, 2025

Updated this week

At JourneyMeds, we work closely with a network of trusted 503A compounding pharmacies to deliver high-quality, affordable compounded medications to patients across the United States - with the exception of Louisiana.

Our pharmacy partnerships are designed to ensure safety, consistency, and regulatory compliance at every step.

Key Information

✅ Accredited & Tested Pharmacies

All partner pharmacies are 503A-accredited and are required to submit independent third-party testing to verify:

  • Efficacy
  • Purity
  • Sterility

🧪 Pharmaceutical-Grade Ingredients

We exclusively use pharmaceutical-grade ingredients in all GLP-1 compounded medications.
Research-grade ingredients are never used.

⚖️ Base Form - Not Salt Form

All GLP-1 medications are compounded using the base form of the active ingredient, not the salt form, to ensure appropriate formulation standards.

Important Note on Pharmacy Selection

The pharmacy that prepares and ships your compounded medication is predetermined based on your dosage and geographic location.

Pharmacies are selected using multiple criteria, including:

  • Required dosage specifications
  • State and federal regulatory compliance
  • Geographic proximity
  • Operational and safety considerations

These factors ensure medications are prepared efficiently and in alignment with legal and quality standards.

JourneyMeds cannot control or manually change which pharmacy fulfills an order.

Discussing Preferences With Your Healthcare Provider

While patients cannot directly choose a pharmacy, you may share concerns or preferences with your healthcare provider during medical appointments. You may:

  • Discuss concerns related to current medications or compounded prescriptions
  • Highlight specific clinical needs for future consideration

Final pharmacy assignments will still depend on dosage, location, and state regulations. These constraints are essential to maintaining:

  • Regulatory compliance
  • Operational efficiency
  • Consistent safety and quality standards

All assignments are made to ensure medications meet both clinical appropriateness and legal requirements.
